Dr. Jamie Snook is an Adjunct Professor in the Marine Affairs Program at Dalhousie University. He serves as Executive Director of the Torngat Wildlife, Plants and Fisheries Secretariat, focusing on implementing wildlife and fisheries co-management under the Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement. His expertise spans Indigenous well-being, fish and wildlife conservation, and governance. Dr. Snook holds a PhD in Public Health from the University of Guelph and an M.A. from Royal Roads University.
His research emphasizes co-management systems, Indigenous fisheries governance, and the intersection of wildlife management with health and cultural resilience. Key projects include analyzing Inuit access to fisheries, impacts of wildlife decline on communities, and embedding Indigenous values into policy frameworks.
