Professor Jamie Quinton holds dual affiliations as a Professor and Head of the School of Natural Sciences at Massey University, Aotearoa, New Zealand, while retaining full academic status at Flinders University. His academic journey includes a PhD in surface physics from the University of Newcastle (2001) and postdoctoral research at Rutgers University with Professor Ted Madey. He advanced through academic ranks at Flinders since 2003, becoming Professor in 2014. His research focuses on nanoscale surface phenomena, corrosion protection, aerospace materials, antimicrobial coatings, and nuclear fusion reactor materials, emphasizing environmentally benign technologies. He is a Chartered Physicist with leadership roles including former Dean of Science at Flinders and Associate Research Leader at the Flinders Institute for NanoScale Science.
