Jamie Louise Budnick is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Cornell University, specializing in gender, sexuality, and feminist science studies. Her research focuses on the social construction of sexuality knowledge through demography and population measurement, including a current book project titled The New Gay Science: How Demography Shaped Sexuality Knowledge and LGBTQ Politics. Previously, she held an NICHD Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Michigan’s Institute for Social Research.

Research Interests: Dr. Budnick examines the production of sexuality statistics, LGBTQ politics, reproductive health, and methodological challenges in measuring sexual identity and violence in social surveys. Her work has been published in leading journals such as American Sociological Review, Demography, and Gender & Society.
Honors: Recipient of the NICHD Postdoctoral Fellowship.
