معرفی
Jamie J. Bernard is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at Michigan State University's College of Natural Science. His research focuses on obesity-promoted carcinogenesis, particularly how visceral fat inflammation drives cancer progression through the FGF2/FGFR1 pathway. He leads initiatives in chemoprevention using purified natural products and collaborates on biomarker development for adiposity-associated cancer risk.
- PhD in Toxicology (University of Rochester, 2009)
- Postdoctoral training in Dermatology (UC San Diego, 2009-2011) and Chemical Biology (Rutgers, 2011-2015)
Research explores metabolic-immune crosstalk in cancer development, with recent work on:
- Translational relevance of FGF2 as a cancer risk biomarker
- Chemopreventive compound screening
- Adiposity-modifiable risk factors
Publications demonstrate interdisciplinary focus across metabolic oncology, inflammation, and experimental methods. The lab actively recruits graduate students for precision prevention research and seeks collaborations in natural product development. Affiliated with the MSU Cancer Center and the Molecular Therapeutics Program.
