Dr. Jamie Grace is a Senior Lecturer in Law at Sheffield Hallam University's Sheffield Institute of Law and Justice, affiliated with the Helena Kennedy Centre for International Justice. Previously held Senior Lecturer roles at the University of Derby (2007–2014) and served as Programme Leader for LL.B programs. Research focuses on privacy law, administrative law, algorithmic policing, and domestic violence disclosure schemes. A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Grace is active in socio-legal research clusters including 'Criminal Justice Institutions' and 'Human Rights and Social Justice'.
Teaching emphasizes constitutional law, human rights, and criminal justice policy. Notable publications include critiques of algorithmic risk assessment tools (Durham HART model) and analyses of UK human rights challenges during the pandemic. Engaged in interdisciplinary work on machine learning ethics in law enforcement and data governance for public protection.
