معرفی
Mr Jamie Blackwell is a Research Fellow at the School of Biomedical Sciences, University of Plymouth. He is a PhD candidate in Biomedical Sciences, supervised by Dr Jane Carré, Dr Michael Wilde, and Dr Charlie Affourtit. His research focuses on mitochondrial function, metabolomic profiles, and their roles in clinical conditions involving muscle mass loss, such as sarcopenia. Previously, he worked as a research technician at the University of Exeter, contributing to nutritional research in human health, exercise performance, and bioenergetics of skeletal muscle.
His technical expertise includes biochemical analyses (e.g., immunohistochemistry, mitochondrial respiration) and studying factors like fatigue, ergogenic aids, muscle growth, and the oral microbiome's metabolic influences. Jamie aims to translate cellular metabolism insights into applications addressing muscle bioenergetics and sarcopenia.
