Jamie Anderson is a Research Fellow in Geography at the University of Manchester. His PhD research at Cambridge University developed novel tools to assess sustainable neighborhood design's impact on subjective wellbeing. His work combines urban design, psychology, and data science to study how built environments influence community wellbeing.
Anderson leads wellbeing components in major projects including GrowGreen, CUSSH (Complex Urban Systems for Sustainability and Health), and GHIA (Green Infrastructure and Health influences for an Ageing Population). He co-develops digital methods through the Manchester Urban Observatory, employing wireless sensors and wearables for behavior analysis.
He holds an MA in Town Planning from Manchester and an MA in Urban Design (Distinction) from Oxford Brookes. Beyond academia, he directs Urban 360 Ltd, consults on wellbeing strategy for regeneration projects (including London's Brent Cross Town), and serves as WELL Advisor for the International WELL Building Institute.
