James T. Robinson is the Caroline E. Haskell Professor of the History of Judaism, Islamic Studies, and the History of Religions in the Divinity School at the University of Chicago, and serves as Affiliated Faculty in the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations (NELC).
His research centers on medieval Jewish intellectual history, philosophy, and biblical exegesis across Islamic and Christian contexts, with key emphases on:
