James Rudolph is an Assistant Professor of Industrial Design at the University of Notre Dame's Department of Art, Art History, and Design, within the College of Arts and Letters. He holds an MS in Human Factors in Information Design from Bentley University and a BID from Syracuse University. His research focuses on healthcare solutions, medical device startups, and integrating human-centered design into corporate culture. Notable awards include the IDEA Design Award (2021), Eddies Award (2021), and McCloskey Grand Prize (2020). He co-leads NIH-funded projects totaling over $15 million, including wearable health monitoring systems and disease detection technologies. Teaching includes courses like Advanced Design Studio and Digital Solid Modeling, with high student evaluations. Active in professional societies, he serves on the IDSA Education Council.
