James Murphy is a Professor of Geography at Clark University and Director of the Geography Department. He serves as Editor-in-Chief of Economic Geography since 2014, advancing diverse research agendas. His scholarship bridges economic geography, development studies, and science and technology studies (STS), focusing on justice, sustainability, and resilience in the Global South, particularly Africa.
