James Moir is Professor of Language and Professional Communication in the Department of Sociological and Psychological Sciences at Abertay University. His research applies discourse analysis to diverse domains including healthcare interactions, higher education, environmentalism, and political communication. With extensive external funding, he has examined shared decision-making in primary care, curriculum development, and graduate employability.
Moir has supervised 5 PhD and 2 Master's students to completion and serves on editorial boards for multiple journals including the International Journal of Interdisciplinary Social and Community Studies.
