James Lee is a Professor of English Law at King’s College London, affiliated with The Dickson Poon School of Law. He serves as Acting Associate Dean for Research Impact and holds roles such as Academic Bencher of the Inner Temple and academic member of the Property Litigation Association. His research focuses on private law, law reform, and judicial reasoning in appellate courts, with emphasis on the UK Supreme Court. Lee has held visiting positions at institutions like the University of Edinburgh and Singapore Management University, and co-edits the flagship journal Legal Studies. He is co-author of the leading textbook Hanbury and Martin: Modern Equity.
