James Ivey is an Instructor in Environmental Science at USF's School of Geosciences, specializing in marine ecology and remote sensing. His experiential teaching approach emphasizes field instrumentation and lab techniques for studying Tampa Bay ecosystems.
Research investigates microplastic pollution, water quality, and algal bloom prediction using neural networks. He advises graduate projects on estuarine health and previously served as Environmental Science Program Coordinator (2016-2018).
