James Herrick is an Adjunct Professor at Le Moyne College, affiliated with the Department of Anthropology, Criminology, & Sociology. He holds a Ph.D. from the University at Albany and has taught interdisciplinary courses spanning psychology, sociology, anthropology, and gerontology.

His research focuses on Ethnobotany, the History of the Social-Behavioral Sciences, and Behavioral Medicine. He has authored the book Iroquois Medical Botany (Syracuse University Press) and contributed chapters to The Anthropology of Medicine: From Theory to Method and Reassessment in Psychology: The Interbehavioral Alternative. His publications include articles in journals such as The Psychological Record, International Journal of Aging and Human Development, and The New York State Journal of Medicine, with a forthcoming book on gifted children.
