Professor James Harrison is a leading injury epidemiologist and public health physician at Flinders University's College of Medicine and Public Health. He has served as founding Director of the Research Centre for Injury Studies since 1997 and Director of the National Injury Surveillance Unit (AIHW) since 1990. His work spans injury measurement, classification, and public health interventions.

His research focuses on injury prevention, public health surveillance systems, and policy development.
