James Gifford is the Head of Impact Advisory and Thought Leadership at Credit Suisse, specializing in mobilizing capital for impact investing. He previously served as founding Executive Director of the UN Principles for Responsible Investment (2003-2013), Head of Impact Investing at UBS Wealth Management, and Director of Impact at TAU Investment Management. He holds a PhD from the University of Sydney on shareholder engagement's role in corporate behavior improvement.
He co-founded and serves as core faculty for the Impact Investing for the Next Generation program, co-hosted by the Harvard Kennedy School's Initiative for Responsible Investment and Credit Suisse Partnerships (CSP) at the University of Zurich. His work bridges academia and finance, focusing on sustainable finance mechanisms and responsible investment strategies.
