James Everett

James Everett, Ph.D., is a retired Professor of Communication, Media, & Culture at Coastal Carolina University. His career included roles as Acting Dean and Vice Provost at the University of Alaska Southeast, Associate Professor and Graduate Studies Director at Queensland University of Technology, and Director of the Graduate School at the University of Tasmania. He holds a Ph.D. in Communication (1985) and M.A. in Anthropology (1978) from the University of Colorado, and a B.A. in Mass Communication (1973) from the University of Michigan.

Dr. Everett's research focuses on the cultural ecology of organizations and organizational knowledge. His teaching emphasized organizational communication and public relations. Though retired, his academic contributions span multiple institutions across the U.S. and Australia.
