Dr. James Duminy is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Geographical Sciences at the University of Bristol. His research focuses on urban development and governance in the Global South, particularly examining the intersections between urban, food, and health systems in African contexts. He holds a PhD, MTRP, MA, and BSc.
Duminy's research interests span urban governance, urbanization processes in Africa, urban history, urban health systems, and urban food security. His work critically examines how urban environments shape social systems and health outcomes, with particular attention to governance frameworks and historical trajectories.
Recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on sustainable urban development, demographic change, and health equity in Global South cities. His work integrates theoretical frameworks with empirical research to advance urban policy and governance models.
