James Christie is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Sciences and adjunct faculty in the Department of Economics at the School of Health Professions. He serves as Assistant Chair and BSHS Program Director. With over 20 years of clinical experience in neonatal, pediatric, and adult respiratory care, he teaches didactic, laboratory, and clinical courses. His leadership includes chairing the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee and organizing career immersion programs for high school students. Beyond academia, he pursues a doctoral degree in Public Health from the University of the Cumberlands.

Research interests focus on respiratory care education, simulation-based learning, and healthcare service innovation. His publications address cultural competency in patient care and simulation lab pedagogy. Community engagement includes volunteering with youth athletics and non-profits like the Lewy Body Dementia Association.
