James Best is a Visiting Professor at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (NTU Singapore) and Emeritus Professor at the University of Melbourne. He served as Dean of LKCMedicine from 2014 to 2021 and previously led Melbourne Medical School (2007–2014) and the Department of Medicine at St Vincent's Hospital (1999–2007). His research focuses on diabetes management, cardiovascular complications, lipid metabolism, and population health strategies.
Education: MBBS from the University of Melbourne (1972), Endocrinology training at St Vincent's Hospital, and diabetes research at the University of Washington, Seattle.
