معرفی
James B. Moseley is a Professor of Biochemistry and Cell Biology at Dartmouth's Geisel School of Medicine, where he leads an active research laboratory in the Department of Biochemistry. His lab is located in the Remsen Building at the Hanover, NH campus.
Professor Moseley's research focuses on fundamental mechanisms coordinating cell growth and division. Key research areas include:
- Signaling pathways linking cell growth proteins to cell cycle machinery
- Size-sensing mechanisms controlling cell cycle transitions
- Cortical organization principles at the plasma membrane
- Conserved cell cycle systems using fission yeast models
Recent publications (2019-2025) demonstrate concentrated research in cytokinesis regulation, cell size control mechanisms, cortical patterning, and kinase/phosphatase signaling networks. Over 90% of publications focus on fission yeast models, with strong emphasis on proteins including Pdk1, PP2A-B56, Mid1, Cdr2, Pak1, and Arf6.
Professor Moseley currently advises 3 graduate students and 2 postdoctoral researchers. Notable past advisees include:
- Corey Allard, PhD (Postdoc at Harvard)
- Lin Deng, PhD (Asst. Professor at Shenzhen Bay Lab)
- Ruth Kabeche, PhD (Scientist at Synthego)
- Joe Magliozzi, PhD (Postdoc at Brandeis)
