Jaime Mirowsky

Jaime Mirowsky is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF). He holds a BS in Chemistry from James Madison University (2007), and MS/PhD in Environmental Health Science from New York University (2010/2013). Following postdoctoral research at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2013-2016), he joined ESF. His research focuses on air pollution's health impacts, including exposure assessment, toxicology, and environmental justice. Key projects include low-cost air quality networks in Syracuse, socioeconomic factors in pollution releases, and pandemic-era air quality changes in NYC.

Teaching responsibilities include Environmental Sampling Methods, Analytical Chemistry, and Research Ethics. His work bridges environmental science, public health, and occupational safety through interdisciplinary approaches.

Research highlights include analyzing hookah charcoal toxicity, traffic pollution effects on cardiovascular health, and the intersection of air quality with pandemic dynamics. His lab emphasizes community-engaged monitoring and policy-relevant data analysis.
