Jaime Bonnin Roca is an Assistant Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the School of Industrial Engineering, Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). He holds a dual PhD in Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University (USA) and the University of Lisbon (Portugal), and a bachelor's in Aeronautical Engineering from the Technical University of Madrid. Prior roles include Research Associate at the University of Cambridge and Test & Validation Engineer at the European Space Agency.
Research Focus: His work explores how organizations respond to uncertainty in adopting emerging technologies, particularly in advanced manufacturing, Industry 4.0, smart cities, and blockchain. He investigates regulatory frameworks balancing safety and innovation in regulated environments, using mixed-methods (qualitative and quantitative) approaches.
Projects: Current initiatives include Fieldlabs@Scale (enhancing innovation ecosystems) and ReSChape (resilient supply chains for social impact). He also leads courses like Entrepreneurial Finance and is developing a new Technology Forecasting module.
Awards: Recipient of the 2021 Babbage Industrial Innovation Policy Award for contributions to policy mix frameworks.
Grants & Activities: Active in organizing EU-SPRI conferences and presenting at venues such as Industrial Marketing Management. Supervises 33 research projects and collaborates internationally on topics like supply chain resilience and regulatory innovation.
