Jade Morton is the Helen and Hubert Croft Professor of Aerospace Engineering Sciences at the University of Colorado Boulder. She holds affiliations with the Colorado Center for Astrodynamics Research (CCAR) and the Space Weather Technology, Research, and Education Center. Her research focuses on GNSS receiver technology for navigation in challenging environments and remote sensing of the ionosphere, atmosphere, and Earth's surface.
Education includes a PhD in Electrical Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University (1991), an MS in Electrical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University (1987), and a BS in Physics from Nanjing University (1983).
Professional roles include Director of CCAR (2019–2023), Chair for Graduate Studies (2018–2019), and prior professorships at Colorado State University and Miami University. Her awards span prestigious accolades such as the Johannes Kepler Award (ION, 2020) and IEEE Fellow (2014).
Her work bridges astrodynamics, remote sensing, and space weather, with contributions to satellite navigation and ionospheric science. Research interests emphasize advancing GNSS applications in complex environments and Earth system monitoring.
Labs and teams include leadership roles at CCAR and collaborative projects with institutions like Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Grants and funding are tied to her extensive research portfolio in navigation and remote sensing technologies.
