Dr. Jacqueline Klooster is an Assistant Professor in Classics at the University of Groningen's Faculty of Arts. She specializes in Ancient Greek and Latin Literature, Hellenistic Poetry, and retellings of ancient myths from a female perspective. Her work bridges classical studies with contemporary issues, emphasizing the societal relevance of classical texts.
Education:

Research Interests: Hellenistic poetry, narratology, ancient political leaders, feminist reinterpretations of myth, and the intersection of classical literature with modern society. She has organized numerous international conferences and is a co-editor of journals like Mnemosyne.
Teaching: Coordinates the University Minor 'The Mirror of Myth' and promotes active learning strategies. Teaches courses on Greek literature, mythology, and academic skills. Supervises BA/MA theses and PhD students, with notable successes in thesis prizes.
