Jacqueline Barnes

Professor Jacqueline Barnes is an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Oxford's Department of Education and Emerita Professor of Psychology at Birkbeck, University of London. She holds honorary roles at institutions including the University of Wollongong, Australia, and the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust. Her work focuses on early intervention, parenting support, and addressing disparities in child development outcomes for disadvantaged families. She has contributed to EU initiatives like the ISOTIS project and advised UK organizations such as NICE and the Department of Health.

Her research spans evaluation methodologies, neighborhood/community impacts on families, and inter-agency collaboration strategies. Barnes has authored over 50 peer-reviewed articles and serves as Co-Editor of Contemporary Social Science. Her honors include Fellowships from the British Psychological Society and Academy of Social Sciences.
