Dr. Jacqualine Grant is an Assistant Professor of Biology at Southern Utah University (SUU) and Director of the Garth and Jerri Frehner Museum of Natural History. She collaborates with the Southern Utah Museum of Art to develop K-12 STEAM education programs. Her roles include teaching, museum leadership, and research.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Neurobiology and Behavior (Chemical Ecology, Population Genetics, Behavior), Cornell University (2004)
- M.S. in Animal Science (Nutritional Toxicology), Cornell University
- Bachelor's studies at Texas A&M University
Research & Interests: Specializes in biodiversity, conservation biology, and museum management. Her global fieldwork includes studying black rhinoceros diets in Zimbabwe, butterfly diversity in Honduras, and invertebrate biodiversity in France/Singapore. She integrates museum collections and educational outreach into her work.
Grants & Collaborations: Received NSF iUTAH EPSCoR grant for course release time, collaborating with University of Utah and Northern Arizona University. Secured funding for museum collections management through Utah Division of Arts and Museums.
