Jacob Rubæk Holm is an Associate Professor at Aalborg University Business School within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. His research focuses on the intersection of technological innovation, labor markets, and regional development, particularly in AI, automation, and green technologies. He emphasizes how these forces impact skills, work organization, and economic outcomes. Holm is affiliated with initiatives like the IKE Group (AI for the People) and leads projects such as Nordic AI-BEST, exploring AI in teaching and business economics. His work bridges theoretical and practical insights, informing policymakers and educators. Holm has contributed to over 90 publications, with notable articles on AI's labor market effects and regional resilience.
He teaches economics, innovation, and technology at Aalborg University, integrating AI tools into education. Holm also chairs the Danish Research Unit for Industrial Dynamics (DRUID) and advises on national and Nordic innovation policies. His awards include the Aalborg University Faculty of Social Science Talent Programme (2018) and a Top Cited Article award (2022-2023).
