معرفی
Dr. Jacob Eurich is a Research Fellow (Postdoctoral Scholar) at the Marine Science Institute, University of California Santa Barbara, where he works under the guidance of Dr. Douglas McCauley. He completed his PhD in 2018 from James Cook University (JCU) as part of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies. His research focuses on coral reef ecosystems, ecological partitioning in damselfish species, and the impacts of climate change on marine biodiversity.
Education:
- PhD in Marine Biology, James Cook University (2018)
- BSc in Marine Science, University of California Santa Barbara (2012)
Research Interests: Dr. Eurich examines the microhabitat use, behavioral interactions, and niche diversification of coral reef damselfishes. His work addresses how ecological partitioning and habitat specialization enable species coexistence, with recent studies focusing on heat tolerance in reef-building corals and historical climate responses. He also investigates the socioeconomic impacts of climate change on coastal communities and fisheries.
Affiliations & Activities: Formerly based at the ARC Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies (2005–2022, JCU), he now contributes to interdisciplinary projects at UCSB. His research integrates field experiments, DNA analysis, and ecological modeling to forecast reef resilience under climate change. Additional profiles are available on ResearchGate, Google Scholar, and Twitter.
Labs & Teams: Marine Science Institute (UCSB), McCauley Lab.
