Jacob Daniels

Jacob Daniels is an Assistant Professor of Instruction and Assistant Director of the Schusterman Center for Jewish Studies at the University of Texas at Austin, affiliated with the College of Liberal Arts. He earned his Ph.D. in History from Stanford University in 2022.

His research focuses on Sephardi Jews, the Ottoman Empire, and Turkey, with a particular emphasis on Jewish civilization post-1492 and interreligious dynamics in the Ottoman context. He teaches cross-listed courses in Religious Studies, History, Jewish Studies, and Middle Eastern Studies.
