معرفی
Dr. Jaclyn McDowell serves as Assistant Professor in Epidemiology & Environmental Health at the University of Kentucky and Senior Epidemiologist at the Markey Cancer Center / Cancer Research Priority Initiative. Her work bridges academic research with cancer surveillance and public health interventions.
Her educational foundation includes a Doctor of Public Health (DPH) from the University of Kentucky (2015). Research interests focus on cancer epidemiology across multiple domains: HPV-associated oropharyngeal cancer in aging populations, early-onset colorectal cancer, melanoma patient interventions, and environmental exposures in military cohorts. Methodologically, she leverages cancer registry data, proportional hazards modeling, and clinical trial frameworks.
Dr. McDowell leads or collaborates on diverse federally and institutionally funded projects, including an active NCI-supported initiative optimizing HPV-oropharyngeal cancer treatment in older adults (2024-2029). Her work demonstrates strong partnerships with the National Cancer Institute, KY Cabinet for Health and Family Services, and military research entities.
As a core member of the Markey Cancer Center, she contributes to Kentucky's Cancer Research Priority Initiative through population health studies examining environmental carcinogens, treatment patterns, and health disparities in rural and veteran communities.
