Dr. Jackie Lebenzon is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Calgary's Faculty of Science. She also serves as an Associate Member at The Calvin, Phoebe and Joan Snyder Institute for Chronic Diseases. Her research program focuses on environmental insect physiology, mitochondrial remodelling, and thermal biology within the contexts of infections, inflammation, chronic diseases, and One Health initiatives.
Her work explores the physiological adaptations of insects to environmental stressors, with particular emphasis on metabolic pathways and genetic mechanisms governing thermal responses. This research contributes to understanding chronic disease mechanisms and ecosystem health.
