Jackie Jia Chyi Hwang is a PhD candidate in World Christianity (part-time) at the University of Edinburgh’s School of Divinity, affiliated with the Centre for the Study of World Christianity. She concurrently serves as an Adjunct Lecturer and Guest Lecturer at Singapore Bible College, where she teaches courses on cultural anthropology, missiology, and diaspora studies. Her research focuses on diaspora Chinese Christianity, particularly the reconfiguration of family concepts (‘jia’) among Mainland Chinese students in Singaporean Christian communities. She actively participates in academic governance roles, including as Distance PhD Representative on the School of Divinity Postgraduate Committee (2021–present) and Student Representative on the Centre for the Study of World Christianity Advisory Board.

Jackie’s publications analyze diaspora mission strategies, family dynamics in migration, and religious outreach to marginalized groups like Indonesian domestic workers in Singapore. Her writing appears in venues such as Studies in World Christianity and Missiology.
