Jack Hogan is a Lecturer in Academic Practice at the Abertay Learning Enhancement (AbLE) Academy, Abertay University, where he has been contributing since April 2021. He leads key student success initiatives, including the MySuccess Modules and Year 2 Microcredentials, embedded across undergraduate programmes.
His research focuses on student transitions, the first-year experience, microcredentials, skills development, and employability. His scholarly work emphasizes personalized learning, educational diagnostics, and institutional strategies for enhancing student success.
The recent publications (2022–2025) reflect a strong thematic consistency in higher education pedagogy, with a focus on student success frameworks, microcredential design, and transition support. His outputs include peer-reviewed book chapters, journal articles, and numerous conference contributions, often in collaboration with colleagues like L. Millard and J. Blackwell-Young.

Jack Hogan has played a significant role in knowledge exchange, co-chairing the European First Year Experience (EFYE) Conference 2023 and chairing the European Access Network (EAN) Conference 2024.
