Dr Jack Britton is a Senior Lecturer (Reader) in Economics at the University of York, where he has been since 2022. Previously, he served as Associate Director at the Institute for Fiscal Studies, co-leading the Education and Skills group. His research focuses on labor economics and education economics, particularly analyzing higher education outcomes using the Department for Education's Longitudinal Education Outcomes (LEO) dataset. He holds a BSc in Mathematics from Imperial College London, an MSc in Economics, and a PhD in Economics from the University of Bristol.
Key research areas include the impact of health on labor supply near retirement, income contingent student loan systems, and socio-economic disparities in graduate earnings. He has led significant projects such as evaluating degree choice impacts and postgraduate returns, with findings published in journals like Labour Economics and Journal of Human Resources.
