Jacek Forysiak serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Geology and Geomorphology at the Faculty of Geographical Sciences, University of Lodz, where his work centers on Earth and environmental sciences with a regional focus on Central Poland, particularly the Łódź region.
His research spans Geology, Geomorphology, and Quaternary Science, specializing in Holocene and Weichselian (Vistulian) sediments, river valley evolution, peatland dynamics, and biogenic deposits. He employs paleontological methods including Cladocera analysis to reconstruct Late Holocene climate changes and environmental events, with significant contributions to understanding sediment geochemistry and geological origins in Central Poland.
Professor Forysiak has supervised 2 doctoral theses and secured funding for 2 research projects, demonstrating active mentorship and research leadership. His extensive scholarly output comprises 140 publications and 33 recorded academic activities, reflecting sustained engagement in his field.
