Prof. JM Harte is a Full Professor of Criminology at the Faculty of Law, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She holds additional roles in A-LAB and the Empirical and Normative Studies department. As former director of the 'Law in Society' bachelor’s program (until 2022), she chairs the CERCO ethics committee for criminological and legal research. Her expertise bridges psychiatry and criminal law, focusing on mental health’s intersection with legal responses to crime.
