Prof. J.J.H. Dekker is an Honorary Professor of History and Philosophy of Education at the University of Groningen's Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences. He holds a PhD from Utrecht University and has held roles such as Senior Lecturer at Maastricht University and Visiting Professor at institutions like the European University Institute. His research focuses on the social and cultural history of education, childhood, parenting, and children at risk, with a particular emphasis on visual sources and long-term historical analysis.
