J. Geoffrey Knowles is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Engineering at Bryan College's Vogel School of Engineering. He teaches a range of courses from introductory engineering to advanced senior design projects, emphasizing a Christ-centered approach to engineering education.
- Academic Degrees: Ph.D. in Engineering and Technology Education (Purdue University), M.Div. in Counseling and Family (Phoenix Seminary), M.S. and B.S. in Civil Engineering (Purdue and Arizona State Universities).
Dr. Knowles specializes in Integrated STEM Education, focusing on enhancing rural student engagement through place-based learning and communities of practice. His research explores how interdisciplinary approaches and real-world applications can improve student motivation and career awareness in STEM fields.
His recent publications analyze the sustainability of integrated STEM models in secondary education, the impact of technology on rural STEM motivation, and systematic reviews of collaborative teaching frameworks. These works highlight his commitment to innovative pedagogical strategies.
