J P Leary

Dr. J P Leary (Cherokee/Delaware) is an Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, affiliated with First Nations Studies, History, and Humanities. He is also a graduate faculty member in the Professional Program in Education and a faculty affiliate with the Education Center for First Nations Studies.

His research focuses on

• Curriculum policy
• History of education
• Representation of Native peoples in education and popular culture

He teaches courses such as Introduction to FNS: The Tribal World, American Indians in Film, and Mohican Ethnohistory.

Dr. Leary serves as faculty advisor for the Intertribal Student Council and contributes to Indigenous education policy analysis.
