Dr Izabela Mycko-Katner is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Civil and Commercial Law, Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Szczecin. She specializes in civil and commercial law with a focus on consumer protection, agency agreements, and EU legal frameworks. Her research includes comparative analyses of Polish and EU law, particularly in consumer rights within sales contracts.
Education: PhD in Law (2009) from University of Szczecin with a dissertation on agency agreements under the Civil Code. Supervised by late Prof. Bronisław Ziemianin.
Research interests include:
- Consumer protection mechanisms in sales contracts
- EU law integration with national civil codes
- Agency obligations and legal liabilities
- Civil code interpretations
Teaching activities include coursework on civil law obligations. She has delivered guest lectures through the ERASMUS+ program at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice (2023/2024).
Active in university governance: member of collegial bodies since 2010, contributing to teaching/organizational/research activities. Affiliated with the Centre for Legal Analysis of the University of Szczecin.
