Ivan Ivanov Yuryevich is an Associate Professor and Senior Researcher at the Institute of Education of the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE), where he also serves as Director of the Center for General and Supplementary Education named after A.A. Pinsky. He has been affiliated with HSE since 2018 and holds a PhD from the same institution (2024).
His research focuses on extracurricular education systems across post-Soviet countries, examining institutional transformations, access inequality, and the effects of non-formal educational activities on children's development. His work spans comparative studies of educational policy, inclusion frameworks, and the relationship between religious institutions and education in post-Soviet contexts.
Ivanov's recent publications reveal a strong emphasis on the transformation of extracurricular education from universal Soviet-era access to contemporary market-driven models that exacerbate social inequality. His research employs mixed methods to analyze children's out-of-school time, academic outcomes, and the role of supplementary education in skill development.
