Ivan Titov is a Professor at the School of Informatics, University of Edinburgh, holding a Personal Chair in Natural Language Processing, and also a Professor (Hoogleraar) at the ILLC, University of Amsterdam. He directs the Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in NLP and the Edinburgh ELLIS unit, and is on the management team of the new CDT in Designing Responsible and Trustworthy NLP.
His research primarily focuses on natural language processing and machine learning. Key areas include:
- Robustness of large language models
- Interpretability of deep learning models
- Trustworthiness and controlability (e.g., editing and unlearning) of deep learning models
His research team has been supported by grants from ERC, NWO (Vici), UKRI, Google, SAP, Booking.com, and Amazon.
