Afonso Brás is an Assistant Professor at the Lisbon School of Economics and Management (ISEG), University of Lisbon. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon (2014). His research focuses on European Union Law, Constitutional Law, International Human Rights Law, and Legal Theory, with notable publications exploring legal interpretation frameworks, UN human rights mechanisms, and EU governance structures.
He serves as editor of the journal 'ePública – Revista Eletrónica de Direito Público' and has published extensively on topics such as penal legal certainty, socio-economic rights in international law, and responses to crises like the pandemic.
Teaching responsibilities include 'Foundations of Law' and 'Law for Economics and Business' courses for undergraduate programs in Economics, Finance, and Management.
