Ivan Pedrosa

Ivan Pedrosa, M.D., Ph.D., is Professor of Radiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he holds the Jack Reynolds, M.D., Chair in Radiology and serves as Co-Leader of the Kidney Cancer Program at the Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center. He is a body imager and clinical researcher with a strong focus on translational imaging, particularly in kidney and prostate cancer, liver and pancreatic disease, and gastrointestinal disorders.

His research centers on developing and implementing novel multiparametric MRI techniques to improve disease characterization and patient outcomes. Key areas include the Clear Cell Likelihood Score (ccLS) for renal mass diagnosis, radiogenomics, AI-driven segmentation, and quantitative imaging biomarkers. He leads the Translational Research Imaging (TRI) Lab, fostering collaboration between imaging scientists, radiologists, and basic researchers.

His recent publications reflect a strong trend in integrating AI, radiomics, and molecular imaging into clinical radiology, with a focus on pancreatic and kidney cancers. His work emphasizes clinical translation, reproducibility, and protocol optimization across multicenter settings.

He has authored over 130 peer-reviewed articles and is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences. The TRI Lab, under his leadership, actively pursues innovations in AI, imaging-OMICS integration, and technical development for clinical impact.
