Ivan Pedrosa

Dr. Ivan Pedrosa is Professor of Radiology and Vice Chair of Radiology Research at UT Southwestern, holding the Jack Reynolds, M.D., Chair in Radiology. He serves as Co-Leader of the Kidney Cancer Program at the Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center. His education includes a medical degree from the University Complutense in Madrid, radiology residency at Hospital Clinico San Carlos, and fellowships in trauma/emergency radiology at Jackson Memorial Hospital and body MRI at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Dr. Pedrosa's research focuses on developing novel MRI techniques for translational cancer research, with primary interests in kidney/prostate cancer, hepatopancreatobiliary diseases, and gastrointestinal imaging. His NIH-funded program investigates vascular MRI biomarkers related to tumor angiogenesis and resistance mechanisms in metastatic disease.

His recent publications demonstrate strong focus on quantitative imaging biomarkers, radiomics, AI applications, and technical innovations in multiparametric MRI protocols. Research trends show consistent emphasis on renal/prostate oncology, technical standardization, and clinical translation of novel imaging techniques.
