Iva Rechner Dika serves as Assistant Professor at the School of Landscape Architecture within the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Zagreb, affiliated with the Department of Ornamental Plants, Landscape Architecture and Garden Art. Her office is located at KRAJOBRAZ, and she conducts consultations on Tuesdays from 10 AM to 12 PM.
Her academic credentials include a PhD in Landscape Architecture from the University of Zagreb (2012), Master's degree from the University of Ljubljana (2003), and foundational studies at Zagreb's School of Landscape Architecture (2002). Her doctoral thesis examined ecological design paradigms under Prof. Branka Aničić.
Research centers on theoretical frameworks for landscape design evolution, historical garden preservation, and sustainable urban-rural landscape integration. She investigates Mediterranean landscape identity, green corridor connectivity with protected areas, and contemporary design trends through both academic inquiry and practical implementation.
Project leadership includes the MZOS-funded 'Mediterranean landscape as a factor of Croatian identity' (2007-2013), Takeda Pharmaceuticals-sponsored KBC Rijeka park design (2017), and EU Social Fund initiatives for professional competency development in green construction (2018-2020) and teaching enhancement (2020-2023). University-supported research addressed rural landscape analysis (2017) and sustainable spatial regulation (2015-2016).
