معرفی
Iva Gunnarsson serves as an Adjunct Professor at Karolinska Institutet, Department of Medicine, Solna, where she is part of the SLE/APS/Vasculitis research group led by Aleksandra Antovic. Her research focuses on systemic autoimmune diseases, particularly systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), and vasculitis, with extensive work on lupus nephritis and ANCA-associated vasculitis.
Dr. Gunnarsson's research interests center on immunological mechanisms of autoimmune diseases, with particular emphasis on biomarkers for disease activity and treatment response, complement system involvement, genetic factors influencing disease susceptibility and severity, and clinical manifestations across different patient populations. Her work spans basic immunological research, translational studies, and clinical investigations.
Analysis of her recent publications reveals a strong focus on identifying and validating biomarkers (particularly C4d, interferon signatures, and B-cell subsets) for monitoring disease activity and treatment response in lupus nephritis and vasculitis. Her research also explores genetic factors across different ethnic populations and the relationship between autoantibody profiles and clinical manifestations.
Dr. Gunnarsson has contributed to numerous collaborative research projects across Scandinavian and international institutions, with publications in leading rheumatology, immunology, and nephrology journals. Her work demonstrates consistent contributions to understanding the pathogenesis and clinical management of autoimmune diseases.
