Itay Safran

Dr. Itay Safran is a faculty member in the Department of Computer Science at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Faculty of Natural Sciences. He completed his BSc in computer science and mathematics at Ben-Gurion University, followed by MSc and PhD studies at the Weizmann Institute, and postdoctoral research at Princeton and Purdue Universities in the US. His academic journey reflects a strong foundation in theoretical and applied computer science.

Research interests focus on artificial intelligence and deep learning, particularly on developing theoretical foundations to understand the mechanisms behind deep learning technologies and their potential improvements. He aims to establish a laboratory at Ben-Gurion University to advance this research.
