Dr Isobelle Barrett Meyering is an ARC DECRA Research Fellow at Macquarie University's School of Humanities. Her research focuses on Australian history, particularly children's rights, feminism, and gender history. She leads projects like 'Child Citizens: Young People and Australian Democracy since 1945,' examining shifts in youth citizenship. Previously, she held a Macquarie University Research Fellowship (2018–2024) and roles at UNSW, UOW, and the Australian Domestic and Family Violence Clearinghouse. Educated at UNSW (PhD, 2017), her work bridges feminist theory and child rights advocacy. Meyering co-convenes the Children's Rights research stream at Macquarie and contributes to organizations like the History Council of NSW and Oral History NSW.
